Where's Mommy and Daddy??

Scotty has taken to calling us Mom and Dad instead of Mommy and Daddy lately.  I thought it would pass and didn't think too much of it, but it has been going on for over a week and the Mommies are getting fewer and fewer.  I'm really sad about this!  I feel like he's too young to abandon Mommy and Daddy.  Shouldn't he still call me Mommy for a few more years??  And, for some reason, hearing Mom called out 20,000 times a day is more annoying then hearing Mommy called 20,000 times!!  I told him that I like it when he calls me Mommy and he will right then, but the next time he says it he's back to Mom.  I guess I'll get over it, but I'm going to be in mourning for Mommy for a little while!

I know what you mean in a way. I may not have kids but my nieces and nephews have grown up too fast. There is one nephew in particular that is going to be 4 this year and he every once and awhile won't call me Nettie but Jeanette. Its sad to hear him call me that. I believe that they all need to stay little so we don't have to go through this.. LOL!! Good luck!!! Love ya!

ooohhhh. They do grow up really really fast. Although, I'd rather have mom or mama over my full name! lol. That happened a lot while we were at my mom and dads house from Paul (2 years) this summer! :)

I am happy to say that I still have "two" young ones that call me "Mommy". I love when Kam calls me that - he still loves me! Just wait until you have a teen (or tween) and they start calling you "Mother" - in an angry or annoyed tone!!! That one's fun :o)

I know this feeling. But Vivi still calls me Daddy when she wants something.
