Summer is gone!

My friend Becca just commented on my last post and asked what has happened since summer arrived and now! So, here it is. These are some things that we did this summer that I want to remember. We had a fun, relaxed summer that went by way too fast. Now I have to do a post with our back to school pictures. Seriously- where did the summer go??

Scotty finished soccer and was really excited to get a medal.

They set up an elaborate Wild West town.

Fun time swimming at the Palisades

We went to Ikea, dropped Scotty and Grant off at the kid's zone (Collin wasn't potty trained yet) and me, Miles and Collin had fun shopping while the other two had a blast in the kid's area. We can't wait to go back now that Collin is potty trained!!!

Scotty moved his room downstairs. He loves it.

Grant loves having his own room and keeps everything neat and organized!

Firework show in Grantsville on the 4th of July.

They had a blast at a splash pad with our friends Miles and Emma.

Collin is a crazy boy!

Playing mini golf.

Playing in the rain.

We saw a Bald Eagle in Wyoming. Awesome!

ALL the boys love throwing rocks in the water!

Grant was stung by a wasp.

Rock climbing! Scotty

Annual TBP day at Lagoon.

Geocaching with Grandma Geri and Grandpa Steve.

Hiking in Alpine, WY.

Happy Birthday Scotty!

Happy 7th Birthday to Scotty!!  Scotty has had a wonderful year and he is excited for his birthday.  He finished Kindergarten and then started 1st grade.  He is doing really well at school and loves 1st grade.  He is an excellent reader and is way above grade level in math.  He loves science and history the most. Scotty had some vision therapy and his eyesight improved greatly.  He still loves Star Wars and to play Lego Star Wars on the Wii.  He started soccer and is having a lot of fun playing.  He has been rock climbing and skiing with his Dad and loves to snowmobile and sled at Grandpa Scott's cabin.  Scotty is an awesome kid.  He loves to invent things and is always surprising us with the things he makes.  He has a great imagination and uses things around the house to make whatever he is dreaming of.  He is a good friend and the Moms of his friends all say how well he plays with their sons.  He is kind and helpful with his brothers and they look up to him so much.  He lost his first tooth and was very happy to have finally lost one!  We love having Scotty in our family.  He makes us laugh and is quick to give a hug to help cheer you up.  We're very proud to be his parents.  We love you Scotty!!

Here are some pics of him from this past year.

Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

We did a muffin tin dinner and a movie. The boys were so excited!!

They had bananas, grapes (some grapes and ham were snatched while I was getting ready to take the picture!), cheese cubes and rolled up ham. I gave them little picks to eat with and they loved it.

They DEVOURED the first tray, so I had to do another one.

In the 2nd one I put apples, grapes, ham, cheese and some requested tortillas. They ate every single scrap of this one too. Hungry boys!

Happy Birthday Collin!

It's Collin's 3rd birthday today!! It's very hard to believe that our youngest is 3. Collin is excited for his birthday and told me tonight "I'm going to wake up and come out and get a bulldozer and say Wow!" He makes me laugh all the time. He makes everyone laugh. He is full of energy and curiosity and lives life to the fullest. He loves books and I'm fortunate to be able to spend lots of time with him on my lap reading stories together. He loves trains, trucks, bulldozers, diggers, garbage trucks, his blankies, Cars 2, and has just discovered Toy Story and says that Buzz Lightyear is his favorite toy! He is adventurous and keeps up with his big brothers- and many times will do thing they won't! He definitely has brought a lot of happiness, excitement, craziness and laughter to our family. We love you Collin!!! To the moon and back!

Here are some pictures of him from the past year.

Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

This morning I decided to do a muffin tin breakfast for the boys. They were all pretty excited. Especially Scotty since he is gone to school at lunchtime now so he hasn't had a mtm for awhile.

They had cinnamon toast, milk, scrambled eggs and pears. I have tried to get them to try cinnamon toast in the past and they refused, but plop it in a muffin tin and they gobble it up and declare it delicious!

Grant sat down and said "Take a picture of me and this!"

Silly boy

When most kids are transitioned into a big kid bed their parents have the fun job of getting them to stay in their beds. Not us. Nope, we are working on getting Collin to get OUT of his bed!! He won't get out of his bed when he wakes up in the morning or after nap time. And he doesn't even call us anymore- he just lays in there and coughs!! I don't know why coughing came to mean Mommy will come in and tell me to come out, but it's been working for him. We tell him every time he goes to bed that when he wakes up he should come out. But every time around his wake up time we hear the coughing and eventually we'll go in and tell him he can get up. He's such a kooky boy!!

Chatterboxes

I had to laugh at this blog post. That kind of conversation with my boys drives me crazy!! I love them, but sometimes their irrational thinking and non-stop talking gets to me. And all 3 of my boys are chatterboxes. Occasionally I want to run screaming to my room and lock the door behind me! I don't though. Not because I'm a mature, patient Mom.....but because I know if I do I'll be listening instead to them banging on the door, screaming, crying and the yelling of "Mommy, open the door!" repeated over and over. So I stay and listen and try to smile. Or I tickle them. Laughter makes everything better!
