Christmas 2012

We had an awesome Christmas.  Well, except for Collin waking up sick on Christmas morning, the poor thing.

Grant and Scotty woke up a little before 6am.  But they were so good to just hang out on our bed and waited patiently for Collin to wake up at 7:20.  They played with stuff they had gotten from Grandma Geri and Grandpa Steve the night before and watched a few videos on my ipod.  Then when Collin woke up we brought him in and he immediately went back to sleep and we had to wake him up when we were ready to start our festivities.

Waiting for the destruction!

Excited to go see what Santa left for them!  We always read the account in Luke of Christ's birth and have a family prayer before we go out to open presents.  There wasn't any whining this year about this particular tradition- progress!!!

Grant was sooo cute this year.  He was very excited about everything.  He couldn't wait to get all the presents opened and we had to keep telling him to wait and be patient.  His enthusiasm was fun!

Grant was so excited for Collin to open the present from him which was a stuffed Luigi that matches Grant's stuffed Mario.  Collin liked it, even though you can't tell!

Grant and Scotty did a good job opening all of the family gifts.

They were good to come over and let Collin help too.

It was very sad to see Collin so sick and not being able to fully enjoy Christmas morning.....but a little part of me was thoroughly enjoying spending the morning snuggling him!

SO SAD!!!!!

Grant with his Jake bandana and treasure box.  Such a cutie!

Scotty getting started on his Lego Ninjago set.  We were pretty proud of him- he opened his present from Santa and didn't find the thing he wanted most, but he wasn't disappointed at all and was very happy with what he did get.  He's growing up and maturing and is such a good kid.

Here's Collin playing with his Captain Hook's boat and sitting by the barf bowl!  A little spewing helps you feel a bit better!

We had a really fun day together.  My parents and my nephew Ethan came over in the afternoon to exchange gifts and that was nice.  We are very sad that Christmas break is almost over as we have really enjoyed having lots of time to spend together.  We haven't had any big outings or activities- just hung out at home playing and watching movies and it has been wonderful.

Getting ready for Christmas

We have been having a fun month getting ready for Christmas.  The boys are very excited!

They were so happy to see their stockings and immediately put them on!

We went to temple square to see the Christmas lights with our friends the Nelsons.  It rained the whole time but it was mild temps, and I would rather walk in the rain than in clear skies with freezing temps!  The boys couldn't wait to touch the temple and Grant loved all the red lights.

They saw Santa at Grant's preschool Christmas open house.

Decorating the tree.  It's fun to see Scotty and Grant remember their favorite ornaments and to see Collin discovering them and getting excited about them.

They got to see Santa again at the Transcript Bulletin Christmas party.  Scott was so excited!  He kept looking outside for him and even stood waiting for a long time at the head of the line so he could be the first one to see him.

Collin asked for a toy this time instead of a big Hershey kiss!

Grant was red faced from running around but had no problem stopping to see Santa.

We hope you are having a wonderful Christmas season!

Par-tay

Grant was pretty lucky and got to have 3 days to celebrate his birthday.  We had a party for him the day after Thanksgiving.  We had aunt Lissa, cousins, Grandma Geri, Grandpa Scott and friends come with us to see Wreck It Ralph.  The kids loved the movie.  I wish I had taken a picture of everyone at the movie theatre!  Then we came back to our house for cake and ice cream and presents.

He wanted a Jake cake.  (Jake and the Neverland Pirates is a show he likes on Disney Jr.) Miles again created a cake that Grant loved!

Now that is one scary pirate!

Grant was happy to have his cousins and friends here to celebrate with him.

I had to throw a picture of this cutie in!!

The day of his birthday we gave him his presents from us.  He was excited to get some pirate bedding, a Mario stuffed animal and a Jake costume.  He had a fun day with ice cream and a playdate with his best friend from preschool.  Then he had his preschool Christmas open house and got to see Santa.  One of his teachers held him up on her shoulder and had the room sing happy birthday to him!

Miles and I also took him to his annual check up, out to lunch and then to Toys R Us to spend his birthday money.  It's always fun to have some time with just us and Grant.  He's an awesome boy!!

Happy Birthday Grant!!

Grant is 5 today!!!  So hard to believe!  He is one excited little boy.  He had his birthday party the day after Thanksgiving, so he has been waiting a long time for his actual birthday to arrive.  Grant is such a sweet, fun little guy.  This past year he has been going to preschool.  He likes it when he gets there- ending his play to leave isn't his favorite thing, but once he is there he enjoys it.  He has a best friend at school and loves to draw pictures for him.  He loves to color and draw and has turned his room into an art show with his pictures hung up all over his walls!  He played soccer this past fall and loved it.  He especially loved wearing his uniform!  He loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mario (still!), chicken nuggets, his blankies, Spongebob, being tickled, swinging, jumping on the trampoline, riding his bike and playing with his brothers.  He likes to know how much time he is going to have to play during the day. When it is time to do something he always wants to know if he will have time to play afterward and is very disappointed if the answers is no.  He has a great imagination and plays, plays and plays all day long.  He is funny and likes to joke and laugh.  He still likes to snuggle, but not as much as it would take away from his play time!  He is kind and shares well and is always willing to help when someone needs it.  We are so blessed to have Grant in our family and to be his parents.  We love you to the moon and back Buddy!!

Here are some pictures of him from this past year.  He's one handsome boy!
