Happy Birthday Scotty!

Scotty is 6 today!! This past year has been a big year for Scotty. The biggest change was graduating from preschool and then starting Kindergarten. He also got glasses- which he loves. He has grown up so much. He is such a great big brother and has been so cute with his brothers this past year. He plays with them really well, helps them and they really look up to them. This past year Scotty discovered Star Wars and has become a big fan. He has made a best friend at school that shares Star Wars interest and it's so cute to watch them play together. He really loves building things with his Trio building blocks and making inventions. He's a very creative boy. He has done wonderfully at school and we're pretty sure he likes it even though he insists that he hates school! He is learning and growing so much and is a joy to have in our family. Happy Birthday Scotty!! We love you more than everything in the world!

Here are some pictures from the past year. It's always surprising to look back and really see how much they have grown in a year!

I love this picture. I looked outside and saw Scotty helping Grant put his sock on. He was being so sweet with Grant and I was so proud.

St George!

We were lucky to be able to spend the weekend in St George for the annual Utah Press Association Convention. My Dad's newspaper, Tooele Transcript Bulletin, took top honors this year at the awards ceremony. Yay! My boys should receive an award for the loudest guests in the hotel! We really had a good time.

We went to dinner at Priate Island. I think the boys were a little scared at first with the dark, spooky interior. But in the game room they had a cool pirate ship that they could climb and slide on and they loved that. They played some games, won some tickets, turned them in for prizes and left happy.
This is the best picture we could get of the three of them. It's nearing impossible to get one with all 3 looking, let alone smiling.

We hit the sand dunes which is always a fun time. Everyone loved it this year and we took home at least 10 pounds of sand in their pockets and shoes.

We had fun enjoying the day with Grandpa Scott, Aunt Stacie and cousin Ethan.

We also spent some time climbing on the rocks.
Grant did a great job climbing. He quickly figured out to slide down on his bum when it got tricky and wore holes in his pants with all the fun he was having.

Collin has no fear- at all. He's a crazy boy.

This didn't look as scary in person!

Scotty is a great climber too.

Collin was so happy to find his rock!

Grant was proud that he climbed all the way to the top.

We hit Dixie rock area before we left town for a little more climbing. It was getting cold but that only seemed to bother Mommy! We had an awesome weekend and the boys really want to go back!

Party!

Collin's birthday party was fun. We had Thomas decorations and Miles made a Diesel cake. (Diesel is his favorite character from Thomas) We had family over for his party on Friday and then on Saturday we went to Disney on Ice. It was all a lot of fun. He loved being silly with his grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins and had fun opening his presents. We had a good time at Disney on Ice. Collin sat and watched intently for about 10 minutes and then he got down to play with the seat and to wander back and forth between me and Miles. He really liked the fireworks at the end. We all enjoyed making his birthday a really fun day.

He's holding his Diesel toy, pointing at his Diesel cake while exclaiming "Diesel!"

He was very excited that he blew out his candles!

We cut off Diesel's face and let him eat it.

His Goth look.

We put the balloons in his room for him to see when he woke up Saturday morning. He was excited and went crazy pushing them around while saying "Pop! Pop! Pop!" It was really cute.

Disney on Ice. It was a bit loud for Scotty!

After two days of partying he was all tuckered out!

Happy Birthday Collin!

Believe it or not, today is Collin's 2nd birthday! We can't believe that it's been two years since he was born, but...Collin seems older than 2! He is so adventurous and mischievous, we forget that he is so young. This year Collin learned to walk, run and climb and doesn't ever stop. Except to read books. He loves to read and takes a book to bed with him every night. I'm so glad that he likes to snuggle on my lap and read books, because snuggling at any other time is not acceptable to him. He loves trains, trucks, tractors, dirt and all other boy things. And also his beloved blankies. He is talking really well. He is our earliest talker and it is so cute to hear such a little guy saying 2, 3 and even 4 word sentences already. He is funny and makes us laugh a lot. His brothers love him and they both play really well with him- even though Collin already knows how to push their buttons! He is definitely our stinker boy but we love him so much and he brings so much joy to our family. Happy Birthday Collin! We love you!!!

Here are some pictures of him from the past year:

Pooped

Today Grant tried "rest time" instead of nap time. As you can see it didn't work out so well for him!

We got home from getting Scotty from school about an hour after regular nap time so I decided to just let Grant rest instead of nap so that he wouldn't be sleeping too late. He was so excited. I have a feeling he will try really hard to negotiate a rest time everyday now!

Seeing pink!

Last week I was able to throw a baby shower for my friend Sharon. She used to live right next door but moved about a year ago. She has an adorable 4yr old little boy, Miles, and she is expecting a baby girl this month. I was so excited when I heard they were expecting and then even more excited when she found out it was a girl. I totally forgot to take pictures of the shower, but I did take pics of the cute baby bootie and bib sugar cookies that I made. It was very weird to be doing something in pink and purple! It just seemed a little out of place in our house.

I am very excited for this little one's arrival! It's been a long time since I've been able to snuggle a newborn, especially a newborn girl, and I can't wait!

Lightsabers and a helicopter

Miles and I went to St George last weekend to attend the Parade of Homes. We went with my Dad and the boys stayed home with Miles' parents. We always bring them a little surprise when we go away and they get so excited. This time we found Star Wars lightsabers that light up and have M&M's in the handle for Scotty and Grant. For Collin we bought a thing that has a sucker in the bottom of the handle and a helicopter on top that has lights on the blades and they spin around when you push the button. They all loved them and played with them for a long time. Miles got these cool shots of them playing.

I love how you can see each of their faces. Grant's is kind of hard to see but it's in there behind the blue.

Love Collin's in this one.

I also love that in each picture someone different is going crazy.

These boys are so much fun. I love them!!!
