Halloween Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

Happy Halloween! We have 3 very excited boys today! Grant and Collin were excited about their "fooky" muffin tin lunch.

They had goblin toes (cheese puffs), monster fingers (grapes), ghost blood (milk), ghost pb&j, witches teeth (corn) and a spider (Babybell cheese) on a spiderweb (spaghetti).

Here is our construction guy and Mario gobbling up their spooky lunch. Scotty got a very similar lunch to take to school. He was very excited to wear his General Grievous costume to school and I hope he enjoys his spooky lunch as well.

Preschool Halloween Party

Everyone was excited for Grant's preschool Halloween party and parade. He was excited for obvious reasons, and we were excited to go watch the adorable costume parade. There isn't anything much cuter than a bunch of 3 year olds parading around in their Halloween costumes.

Grant and I had fun making sucker ghosts for his treat contribution.

He drew almost all of the faces on by himself. He made them very "fooky".

They all came out for the parade and they were darling. Grant decided he wanted to be Mario again (he was Mario last year) and there was no talking him out of it!

I'm not sure why Grant thought he needed to hold Captain America's hand, but he did.

And he was insistent even when Captain America resisted!

Captain America ditched Grant when he saw his parents, so Grant went solo for the rest of the parade. He has his parade wave down!

They sang us a fun little Halloween song. With my handsome little Mario being the cutest, the tiny Darth Vader and Storm Trooper sure did make me smile!

Blowing kisses.

When I loaded up Grant and Collin to go to preschool this morning the van wouldn't start. Miles was in SLC, but luckily my Dad was able to quickly run over and take him. Then he even had time to bring over his battery charger and get the van up and running just in time to head up for the parade. Whew!

Collin and Grandpa were having lots of fun!

We can't wait for next year's parade!

Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

I had another day of a grumpy boy made happy by his muffin tin meal! Yay!

In today's muffin tin they had a bat shaped ham sandwich, mandarin oranges, corn, water, pretzels and a chocolate donut for a treat.

Grant went right for the bat shaped sandwich, Collin went right for the donut - I'm not surprised!

Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?

I bet that Grant and Collin think this to themselves sometimes. They are at a fun age when their language is developing and they say the most adorable things....but sometimes, it's a bit hard to understand. I'm pretty lucky that I get to spend my day with two little ones that say the cutest stuff. And lucky that they are patient with me when I need some extra help to decipher what they have said. I love this age when they mix up words and letters and put their own cute spin on words and sentences. I loved it when Scotty was that age too.

Grant and Collin also say a lot of the same things. They seem to speak the same language, so to speak! The most fun one right now is spooky, which they pronounce as "fooky". There is a lot of spooky stuff around with Halloween coming up, so I get to hear their cute little voices saying "Oooh, fooky!" all day. I love it!

Here are some more cute things that they say:
Collin - Colla (Grant started out calling Collin "Ta Ta", then he moved on to "Ca Ca")
Scotty - Sotty
Transcript - Transmit
balloon - baboon (Pronounced the same as balloon but with a b, not like the monkey!)

Here are a few more of Collin's:
garbage - garmage
steamroller - skeamroller

There's lots more, but I can't think of any more specifics right now. These two are so cute. The other day I said to Grant "Grant, you are awesome." He replied "Yes, me am." I love them!!!

Muffin Tin Monday

When lunchtime came around I had two grumpy boys. When I told them they were having lunch in a muffin tin they turned into two very happy, excited boys!

They had PB&Js, grapes and carrots with ranch to dip.

My two monkeys singing the monkey and the alligator song.

Grumpy moods are officially gone!

Grant's first day of preschool

Grant had a great day! He was so excited to go to preschool. He has been talking about it for months and always wanted to drive by his preschool. He was really happy when the big day finally arrived.

Here's the big preschool boy! I can't believe how grown up he looks.

Very excited!

His "best friend Collin" wanted to be in his picture too. They're so cute together!

Following the alphabet down to class.

I wondered if he would cry when it came time for me to leave, but he gave me a kiss and went right back to playing with Play Doh.

When we left Collin wanted to go to the donut store to get a "cookie donut and a drink!" We had a fun time together. But it was a little strange to be at home without Grant. I think we both felt a little lost!

Coming out after class. Grant was annoyed and started to get upset when the little boy in front of him stopped and wouldn't move. Luckily I got to him right as he started pushing him out of the way! I thought he just couldn't get around him but he wanted to step on all the letters and the boy had stopped right on one. I was able to get the boy to move a little and Grant was able to finish stepping on the letters- whew!

He said that he had a fun day and liked preschool. His teachers said that he did great. I'm so proud of Grant!

Grant makes me laugh!

One night Grant put his legs into the arms of his pajama shirt and couldn't figure out what was going on. It was so funny!

Today he was saying he wanted an ice cream sandwich. I was asking him if he wanted to eat it while jumping or twirling and then I said dancing and he said "No, I dance when I have to go to the potty, Mommy!" Ha ha ha!!

Grant is very excited to start preschool on Tuesday. We went to his open house and we saw his classroom and met his teachers. He got some tracing pages for homework and loves to do them. He sits there tracing and every once in awhile he'll shout out "I'm doing great!"

He really did do great! This was his first time tracing and I only helped him on the A. Later on he noticed that he missed the p and m and he had to finish them right away!

We love this boy so much!! He's such a fun part of our family. He makes me laugh every day!

Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin Tin Monday at Muffintinmom.com

Today I remembered last minute about Muffin Tin Monday. Grant and Collin were so excited to use our little bear muffin cups. It's so fun to see how happy this little thing makes them. It was also our first Muffin Tin Monday without Scotty, so that was a bit sad. Grant even put a muffin cup at Scotty's spot because he forgot that he's at school. They happily ate and asked for refill after refill after refill!

Mandarin oranges, mac & cheese and pes

Grant is showing his displeasure at having a piece of macaroni on his sleeve.

Soccer

I'm a Soccer Mom! (Good thing I already have the minivan!) Scotty is playing soccer for the first time this year. We weren't sure how he'd like it since all invitations to play with Miles in the backyard were quickly dismissed. But after the first practice he said that he loved it. Yay!! Each game he plays he is getting more aggressive and learning more and more. He enjoys it and we enjoy watching him. Grant and Collin enjoy being crazy on the sidelines and driving Mom crazy!!

His first practice.

He did really well dribbling for his first time.

Grant and Collin kept themselves entertained by climbing all over Daddy and putting grass on Daddy's head. Mommy has declared her head a no grass zone!

And this worm brought lots of entertainment too.

This is his first game. Scotty is purple #2. When he came over for his first drink break he said "There's a lot of running!" Ha ha!!

Kicking the ball into play.

His first game was against his cousin Ethan's team. Ethan is #2 too!! Scotty is getting himself focused on the ball!

Grant and Collin kept us all entertained on the sidelines of the game!

This is his second game. He was really trying to get in there and get the ball.

Leading the pack!

Besides roasting in record breaking heat, soccer has been a great experience so far!

First Grade!

Scotty had his first day of first grade yesterday. He was excited to go and a little nervous too. After we dropped the girls off that we carpool with after school, he said "Mommy, you haven't heard about my first day yet!" He couldn't wait to tell me all about it. He said he had a great day and likes first grade. His teacher is nice and they read lots of stories and had lunch and had 3 recesses!! I was so happy that he had a good day.

Here he is looking very handsome in his school clothes.

Rubbing his eyes. I just thought this picture was cute for some reason!

And this picture is just hilarious!! It looks like the little boys are celebrating Scotty going back to school and Scotty is mourning going back to school! What actually happened is that they wanted to be in Scotty's pictures and he didn't want them to.

And this is how the little ones entertained themselves without big brother around. The couch is the garbage truck and they took all the books and toys from our cubbie shelf and put it all in the garbage truck! At least they cleaned up about half of it themselves. I think they kind of like not having Scotty around to dictate all the playing! But at lunch time I pointed out that it was a little strange not having Scotty here and Grant said in a sad voice "Oh! There's only 2 brothers now!"
